The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that every child have an examination by age 7.  We know what an important step it is in every child's life.

Diagnostic Records & Treatment Planning

As part of your complimentary initial examination, digital x-rays and photographs are provided as well as diagnostic models. Once these orthodontic records have been obtained, Dr. Cercone or Drs. Wear & Solomon will review them and determine a specific treatment plan for your orthodontic needs. During that initial visit the doctor and our Treatment Coordinator will review your treatment plan, answer your questions, set up the necessary appointments to begin your orthodontic treatment and develop a financial arrangement designed for your personal needs and abilities. If applicable, insurance benefits will be reviewed as well. Our office has an Insurance Specialist as part of our team and she will facilitate all billing and assignment of benefits and will act as your liaison with your insurance company. Successive Visits

Regularly scheduled visits are an important part of orthodontic treatment. Generally, we will want to see you every 6 to 8 weeks to check your progress and make adjustments to your braces or appliances. During this time, it is important that you keep your appointments, follow instructions, eat nutritiously and practice good oral hygiene. Also, continue to visit your dentist regularly.
 

Once your braces are removed, retainers are utilized to hold your teeth in their new positions until your bone, gums and muscles adapt. The retention period is an important part of your overall treatment, is provided as part of the inclusive treatment fee and is important to the long term health of your beautiful new smile. Included, also, is a set of retention digital photographs and x-rays, which are shared with your dentist.

Length of Treatment 

Treatment time with braces or removable appliances vary depending on your specific needs, the severity of the problem and your cooperation. Our doctors will provide you with the optimum treatment plan to create a beautiful smile in the shortest possible treatment time. Drs. Cercone, Wear & Solomon's vast experience and expertise in diagnosis and treatment planning is of the highest quality.

Dental Care

Before any orthodontic treatment, we will check with your family dentist to make certain that all cavities have been treated and the health of your gums and underlying bone are free of periodontal (gum) disease. Together, we work as a team to create your beautiful smile.
 
Your family dentist will continue to schedule cleaning and cavity check-ups during your orthodontic care and we will assist you with the coordination of those visits. Together we work as a team to provide you with the most healthy and beautiful smile.
